[ds6-devel] IPv6 DNS requests

Hi all,
Can someone remind me what the appropriate way of resolving addresses
is in an IPv6 & IPv4 environment?
Should the resolver query AAAA and then AA, or both simultaneously and
wait for both replies? Someone told me that some servers don't return
errors to AAAA requests (forcing the client to wait for timeout) - is
this true or is the person just clueless?
Also - is there a generally accepted order (or, better, a standard)
that a client SHOULD prefer? IPv6 and then IPv4, or the other way
around?
I guess I could look all this up online, but I'm trying to limit
computer usage a bit (I think I've got an onset of RSI).
Regards,
Chris
