Your not really bothering me, but the point is that administrators
should never sign people up to mailing lists. That job (and choice)
should be left to the user. Of course, that might be as simple as you
asking "would you like me to put you on this list" and me replying "yes
do that". But in this case, the methods for signing up for these lists
are trivial and it's probably pretty obvious that I have the technical
knowledge to do this for myself.
I'm basically saying that you should give people the info about the
list they are on, and then point them to the web page where they can
sign up (or tell them to send "subscribe" to the appropriate -request
address).
If you think I should be on those lists, tell me what they are and I'll
probably decide that I should join them.
