just because this address was auto-generated doesn't mean it's bound
to the NIC. Actually, both addresses (6bone and 6net) are statically
configured and would be used even if we replace the interface.

Configuring an IP address this way requires coordination with the network
manager (boo boo! this is the old way!) because we don't own that class of
IPs and we're not tunneled. We have native IPv6 at the LAN level and
actually <prefix>::1 is already taken. We don't know how many others are.
