Hello, hoping, that I have not fully understand the documentation, I am wondering, wether ipv6calc is able to calculate the prefix (or net id) from a given IP Address. F.e. I input: fd01:db8:ca45:137e:a2:b006::125/59 and the expected output would be: fd01:db8:ca45:1360:: (unless I miscalculated, that is). Again, I have not been able to find that, but maybe I have missed something in the filter section. Thanks Ede
Hi, ipv6calc -O ipv6 -h would provide some hints... In your case: ipv6calc -q fd01:db8:ca45:137e:a2:b006::125/59 --maskprefix --no-prefixlength fd01:db8:ca45:1360:: Hope this helps, Peter Am 24.07.24 um 12:37 schrieb Ede Wolf:

Hello Peter, thanks very, very much. This indeed helps a great deal! I have not been able to actually comprehend the "Mask prefix bits" description. But it works brilliantly - and now it makes sense, thinking about it. Excellent toll! Ede Am 24.07.24 um 15:36 schrieb pb@bieringer.de:
